Why we do it
The science and technology that supports our lives are the culmination of the efforts of researchers who have continued to conduct research, driven by their curiosity, conviction, and passion. Many of these began as basic research with no direct application in mind, and have contributed to society in ways no one could have predicted.
However, in the current climate that emphasizes short-term results, there is a reality that basic research and long-term projects that aim for essential breakthroughs are not being fully supported. Researchers need an environment where they can settle down and pursue their research based on their own intrinsic motivation.
We will provide philanthropists and many others with the opportunity to experience the "movingness" of science, and build a system where researchers and supporters can create the future together. We also aim to create a society where researchers can focus on the long-term research that they truly want to do.

Action
The Science Moves Award is an award that honors and financially supports "moving researchers" who take on long-term research while being driven by their curiosity, beliefs, and passion.
We provide an environment where researchers can concentrate on their research by focusing on grant design, such as "no application or report documents required," "free use of funds," and "separate overhead costs." In addition, we provide connections to create the future together through a network of philanthropists and supporting partners.

The Science Moves Pitch Conference is a place where "moving" researchers and the philanthropists who support them can come together to share the excitement, significance, and passion of science, and create deep connections to create the future together.
At this conference, Science Moves Award winners will give moving research pitches about their research, the strong feelings they have put into it, and the future that their research will open up. Participants will also have the opportunity to directly interact with each other, creating possibilities for support and new collaborations.
The Science Moves Tour Experience is a special tour program that allows you to experience the "moving" nature of science. On this tour, you can visit cutting-edge research facilities and experience the excitement and wonder of science firsthand.
Participants can step into research sites that are normally off-limits to the public, talk directly with researchers, and experience their passion and vision. In addition, the program also incorporates local food culture and accommodation experiences, providing a luxurious program where you can enjoy science and Japanese culture at the same time.

The founder's thoughts
I myself have wanted to be a mathematician since childhood, but after entering university, I witnessed the challenges surrounding research. I wanted to solve these challenges and create a society where researchers can maximize their potential, so I founded LabBase, Inc.
Among the various challenges surrounding research, I feel particularly concerned about the situation in which it is difficult for researchers to settle down and devote themselves to their research based on their curiosity and passion.
I believe that what can change this situation is the passion of each researcher and the power of colleagues who empathize with and support them.
At Science Moves, we sincerely respect the fascinating and meaningful aspects of science, and together with everyone who wants to support it, we will do our best to support "moving" researchers.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who supports this initiative. Together, let's build a new system that allows researchers to continue taking on challenges and support science that will move the future!
